Capturing Moments, Framing Perspectives

Welcome to My Visual Playground!
As a photographer with low vision, I see the world through a unique lens – both literally and figuratively. Here, you’ll find a collection of images that tell stories, evoke emotions, and maybe even challenge your perceptions.
My Photography Journey
What started as a way to see things while I could and document the world while I could (spoiler alert, I am loosing my vision) has blossomed into a passion for visual storytelling.
With each click of the shutter, I’m not just taking a picture; I’m capturing a moment, a feeling, a slice of life that might otherwise go unnoticed.
Through My Lens
My photography focuses on three main areas:
- Nature’s Canvas. From the grand vistas of our national parks to the tiny ecosystems in our backyards, nature never ceases to amaze me. These images celebrate the beauty and resilience of our natural world.
- Faces of Community. People are at the heart of every community. Through portraits, I aim to showcase the diversity, strength, and spirit of the individuals who make our world vibrant.
- Seeing Through My Eyes. One of my passions is helping others understand the world of low vision. Using digital editing techniques, I alter some of my photographs to simulate how I perceive the world. These images offer a glimpse into my daily visual experience and serve as a powerful tool for raising awareness about low vision.
- By juxtaposing the original photos with the altered versions, I invite viewers to step into my shoes and see the world from a different perspective.
- It’s not just about showcasing limitations; it’s about highlighting the beauty and uniqueness of diverse visual experiences.
A Different Perspective
Living with low vision has its challenges, but it’s also given me a unique approach to photography. I often rely more on shapes, contrasts, and intuition rather than perfect visual clarity. The result? Images that might make you look twice and see things from a new angle.

The craft of photography allows the pace of life to slow down as I move slowly to find those moments of beauty I am striving to appreciate.
The pic in the upper left above is part of my photog crew. We are all either taking pictures, looking at images we just snapped, or admiring the view.
Whatever the case, I am grateful for these views while I have sight and the memories I am making.
